  4. Membership in the NWU is open to all qualified writers, and no one shall be
  5. barred, or in any manner prejudiced within the union, on account of age,
  6. disability, gender, ideology, national origin, race, religion, or sexual
  7. orientation.

  9. You are eligible for membership if you have published a book, play, three
  10. articles, five poems, on short story, or an equivalent amounts of
  11. newsletter, publicity, technical, commercial, government or institution
  12. copy. You are also eligible for membership if you have written an equal
  13. amount of unpublished material and you are actively writing and attempting
  14. to publish your work.
